Application Procedure

After the concrete has been successfully etched and lightly rinsed to remove what little dust is remaining on the floor we are ready to start our application process.

Using a diamond grinding system we etch the floor and create little "micro cannons" in the concrete surface. These "canyons" make it even easier for our primer to penetrate the surface so it is not just applied to the top of the concrete like a standard paint would be.

In most cases, but not all, our primer is applied to a damp concrete surface. The Acritek primer has been formulated to incorporate the added properties of an ammoniate. Due to this additional property and the inherent advantages of this formula the primer uses the moisture as a carrier to assist its penetration. The moisture evaporates as the primer replaces it.
